Digital Mammography

Digital mammography is the use of low-dose radiation to examine the breast for diagnosis and treatment. It is an x-ray picture of the human breast, and the doctor uses it to look for early signs of breast cancer. It is recommended that women between the ages of 40 and older should consider mammography annually or biannually. It can be classified as listed below.

  • Ages 40–44 should be given the option to begin screening mammograms once a year based on family history and risk factors, as early detection improves chances of survival.
  • Ages 44–54 should get a mammogram once every year.
  • Ages 55-older should get a mammogram once every two years but can continue doing it annually based on family history and risk factors.

Women with high risk factors, such as a family history of breast cancer or genetics, will be screened with a mammogram as well as a breast MRI scan. This can be determined by the doctor.

We offer some of the most advanced digital mammograms at Doctor 365. We are well aware of the sensitivity of a missed breast cancer diagnosis in patients.
